Tribute to Archie Childs

George Archie Childs died on Saturday, September 6, 2008.  He served on the Steering Committee of Just Peace Circles and was instrumental in the creation of the organization.

Archie ChildsA long time friend of justice, Archie hosted a one-hour radio show on WPFW Pacifica Radio www.wpfw.org in Washington, DC called Crossroads Today.  He knew the prison system and hardship firsthand and used his experiences to teach and mentor others in conflict resolution.  He was a long time trainer and advocate of the Alternatives to Violence Project www.avpusa.org .  HIs "baby", the OZZIDDI Project, was a community empowerment and drama group focused on resolving conflict through communication skills, song and dance.

Although hIs body was buried in a family cemetery in Bowling Green, VA, his Spirit lives on.  Thanks, Archie, for everything and especially for reminding us to "trust the process".
